TYPO3 Extension “Mail Queue”
Version 1.7.0 (2026-09-12)
Mail Queue keeps TYPO3's immediate mail delivery intact and catches what fails. In the normal case nothing sits between your request and SMTP. When delivery fails, the mail lands in a database queue and is retried with exponential backoff instead of being lost.
It hooks into TYPO3's mail transport rather than into application code, so it covers every mail of the instance: your own extensions, the form framework, felogin password resets. No calling code changes.
Compatibility
TYPO3 v13.4 LTS (13.4.23 or later) and v14, PHP 8.2+. The 13.4.23 floor is not arbitrary: queued payloads are restored through the hardened PolymorphicDeserializer the core introduced in its January 2026 security release.

Where to Start
Setting it up for the first time? Read Installation end to end, including the production checklist. Two items there are easy to miss and both cost mails.
Running it already and something looks wrong? How It Works explains what each status means, and the Backend Module chapter covers what you can do about a stuck entry.
Setting up a staging environment? Go straight to Force Hold—and mind the retention note there, or the queue table and payload directory grow without bound.
