Not Bad. But Have You Ever Been to the TYPO3 Camp in Baden-Württemberg?

After five months of planning, around 60 Instagram posts, countless coordination rounds, prep work, and a hefty dose of anticipation, the moment finally arrived: THE CÄMP in Heidelberg opened its doors.
In the run-up, between flyers, the website, and social media, one question kept coming up: “How many Ä’s is too many?”—and somehow (or maybe precisely because of it) the concept worked beautifully. The branding around THE CÄMP was eye-catching, playful, and above all: impossible to forget.
A Whole LÄND, Not Just One City

THE CÄMP is the successor to the former TYPO3 Camp Stuttgart—but it’s deliberately taking a new path. Instead of staying tied to a single city, the Camp is now built for all of Baden-Württemberg. That means future editions of THE CÄMP can move between regional cities while keeping a clear identity.
A special highlight: the state of Baden-Württemberg officially gave the green light to riff on its well-known “THE LÄND” campaign. The fun fact? Just 20 minutes passed between request and approval. That’s probably a record.

Many Sessions, Many Perspectives

With 46 sessions on the schedule, the program covered a lot of ground. AI, accessibility, TYPO3 features, and new developments sat alongside honest reports from everyday work.
As at most camps, the biggest challenge was often the decision itself: which session do I go to—and which one do I reluctantly skip?
What I found especially valuable was the open exchange between attendees. It quickly became clear that many of us face the same challenges but tackle them in completely different ways. That, for me, is what makes events like this worth showing up for.
A great example was the session “Bot Defense With Solr Context.” Pretty much everyone in the room knew the underlying problem, but the approaches couldn’t have been more different. Everyone walked away with new ideas and fresh angles—and that’s exactly why you go to a TYPO3 Camp.

The New “User Stäge”

A new addition this year was the “User Stäge”—a format aimed specifically at TYPO3 users on the editor level. In other words, the people who work with the backend every day without being developers themselves.
That focus really landed. The format covered practical use cases, helpful tools, tips and tricks for daily work, and first glimpses of TYPO3 version 14. Above all, it created space for the questions that tend to get lost in day-to-day operations.
The User Stäge was designed with daily TYPO3 users in mind, and the offering resonated strongly with our clients among the attendees.

Exchange, Community, and Plenty of TYPO3 Spirit
A total of 164 attendees came together on-site. Beyond the sessions, the personal exchange took center stage: conversations between talks, new connections, familiar faces, and shared thinking around challenges, ideas, and solutions.

THE CÄMP 2027
