Jessica McQueen

Working student (Werkstudentin)—Marketing

Jessica is b13’s marketing working student (Werkstudentin) and is currently completing a communications degree at the Stuttgart Media University. She manages content across multiple channels and languages, posts blogs, translates content between German and English, and conducts client case study interviews—giving voice to the real-world impact of b13’s TYPO3 solutions.

Before discovering b13, Jessica spent a gap year traveling across Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. While working for a solar panel company in Melbourne, she discovered her passion for digital marketing—designing social media content, writing blogs, managing email campaigns, and even redesigning their website. She returned to study in Stuttgart, specifically seeking a program that combined creative design with marketing strategy, and has been putting those skills to work at b13 ever since.

Jessica and TYPO3

I love TYPO3’s customizability. It’s like Tetris—I can build with predefined blocks that the team has designed, and everything just fits together to look good. The structure is completely flexible, and I’m excited about the new version coming. The b13 designers have done amazing work on the default themes and the improved user interface—it’s going to make everything even easier to use.

Jessica on working at b13

I love how clear, direct, and kind everyone is at b13. You always know where you stand, but you also feel genuinely welcomed and trusted. There’s no micromanagement—just real respect and the space to learn on the job. As I’ve stepped into a proper team environment for the first time, I’m learning constantly, and they give me the time and space to grow. Plus, nice people, an open environment, and a genuinely funny Slack chat don’t hurt either!
